Block with Unusual Features
|
Industrial Swage Block with Unusual Features:
This block has several features rarely found on blocks. It has a triangular hole and a hexagonal hole.
Although neither are unheard of they are of questionable use except perhaps for punching.
However, an idea put forward by Grant Sarver of Off Center Tools is that a possible use for a hexagonal hole of the correct size it as a shank holder for tools made of pavement breaker bits.
This is one of the ugliest block designs in our photo collection.
It is possibly an II&B Vulcan brand no. 1½ with the cores rearranged for better strength.
